About our International Academy at Westside Elementary
Cabot School District is proud to offer the International Academy at Westside Elementary. Identified English Learners (ELs) are invited to attend our International Academy and transportation is provided. At the International Academy, we have several teachers that have received EL training. These are considered the EL classrooms which enjoy a combination of EL students from around the world with mainstream English speaking students.
At our International Academy, we have an ELD Teacher and 2 EL Paraprofessionals. Our EL Paraprofessionals provide in-class support, work with individual students or small groups within the classroom, reinforce learning, work on spelling, front load or pre-teach vocabulary, review concepts, and provide one-on-one assistance with reading and writing, amongst many other things.
